Email has become a means of being in contact for both users and companies. There are many email platforms. It is a quick, convenient and simple option to send reports, documents or simply ask a question. However, it has become so used that sometimes we have more emails than we would like. In addition, it is common to have several accounts. One may be used for work or studies, another for our personal use.
Gmail allow all received messages to be re-sent to other selected email addresses. You can use filters to forward messages that meet certain criteria to external addresses, but if you don’t take a systematic approach, a broader approach called “forward all” is useful.
How to Forward Gmail Messages to Another Email Account
There are many who have an email account in Gmail, but it is possible that for some reason (whether personal or professional), the email service used as the main one is another. If this is your case, we tell you how to automatically redirect all messages that reach the Google mail.
Register the Forwarding Email Address
The mail forwarding destination must be an email address you manage. If mail can be freely transferred to an unrelated third party email address, it may be used for illegal purposes. Therefore, in order to forward mail automatically, it is necessary to register the forwarding mail address in advance and prove that you manage this mail address yourself.
Register your email address. Click the gear icon displayed in the upper right of Gmail screen, and click “Settings” from the displayed menu.
It is very simple, the idea is as follows. You have to send a report to your boss or direct supervisor but it depends on the person who was below you sending it to you. You are in the middle of the chain. It would be a bit boring to have to copy the message, download the file to rewrite it and attach the file to your boss. So there is the function to forward emails to all the managers email accounts.
Steps to forward an email to email address
I tell you, it is a common process in almost 100% of email providers. In my case I will explain the tutorial on how to forward emails in Gmail. But you can be using the platform that will also do very well.
Step 1. Access your email manager
As I said before, I will work with Gmail so if you have an email account in Gmail, great, but follow my steps with your manager. The first thing you have to do is access the Gmail mail manager at: https://www.gmail.com once there, log in. You are already inside!
Step 2. Locate the email to forward to another person
Search your Gmail inbox for the email we want to forward, for example, I’m going to take one of my boss who sent it to me:
If you notice, the beginning of the subject of the mail begins with ” Fwd ” which is short as they say in English ” message forwarded ” ( Forwarded Message ). That means that this email that we are going to forward to another person has already been forwarded by my boss to me. We access it and see the following message body:
Well, here is an example where you can see that the email has been forwarded from Álvaro (my boss) to me. I can tell by the dividing line that says: « Forwarded Message «. So what we are going to do is resend this email to another person.
Step 3. Resend selected email
If you look at the image of the previous step, apart from marking the area that specifies whether or not it is a resent mail there is another square to the right that I have indicated. You have to click there and select the option that says “forward message ” as you see in this image:
After clicking there, it will redirect you to the lower part of the message body with an added text of « Forwarded Message » indicating that it is a resent email
Then you have to write in the « To » box the new recipient of this forwarded message. To write a message body, if you want to add it, you must place it right between the “for” box and the forwarded message line. And click send! Your email has been sent to your contact with a history thread incorporated in the email.
Resend all Emails Automatically
This will allow you to redirect all emails from one account to another of your property. There are also the email aliases that I already wrote an article that in fact I recommend using instead of automatically resending the emails. I explain the steps to resend emails automatically.
Step 1. Access your email account to resend emails
Just as you accessed your Gmail account to learn how to forward emails, sign in now to set up automatic forwarding for yourself or others.
Step 2. Configuring automatic redirection
Once you click on the cogwheel, a menu will be displayed where you will have to choose the “Configuration ” option . That is when a new section will open and you will have to look for the section or tab « Forwarding and POP and / or IMAP.
Automatically forward some incoming emails
You can also configure Gmail to automatically resend incoming email that meets certain criteria. For example, you can forward email from a specific software provider to the accountant’s email address. Or, automatically forward email from certain high-priority customers and send it to another person on your team who can respond immediately.
You require adding a forwarding address just like the one above, by the side of with the owner of the purpose email account that will allow the email forwarding.
Next, configure the filter criteria. In Gmail, go to the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab and select Create new filter. Add the criteria you want to use here (such as origin or address, subject or body content) and create a filter with this search.
Hope, this article will help you, while you auto forwarding your gmail messages. Do let me know, if any important thing, which I missed here.
